Shelved is a small, free media tracking app. This page explains what data is processed and why.

2. Data We Collect
We process account data provided through Clerk (such as email address and authentication/session data) and the media library data you store in Shelved (titles, statuses, ratings, progress, and notes) in PostgreSQL.
3. Why We Process Data
Data is processed only to provide the service: account management, authentication, saving your personal library, and showing your tracking progress.
4. Third-Party Processors
- Clerk (clerk.com) — Authentication, session management, and user data.
- Hetzner Online GmbH (hetzner.com) — Server hosting (VPS in Germany).
- Google Books API (Google LLC) — Book and audiobook search queries.
- TMDB API (The Movie Database) — Film and TV search queries.
- AniList API (AniChart/AniList) — Manga and anime search queries.
- Audnexus (audnexus.us) — Audiobook metadata (for example narrator and duration fields).
5. Cookies
Shelved uses functional session cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to request access, correction, deletion, and data portability under GDPR Articles 15-20.
7. Data Retention
Your data is stored as long as your account exists. If your account is deleted, related personal data is deleted as part of that process.
